Time:

9:00 AM (Novice/Cadet/B)
3:00 PM (Percussion)

Unit Check-In

Color Guard check-in will be located at the western side of the school and will begin at 8:00 AM.
Percussion
check-in will be located at the western side of the school and will begin at 2:00 PM.

Up to 30 performing members will be admitted free per color guard (there is no limit for percussion units). A performing member must be visible on the competition floor and must be in a recognizable uniform. Discrepencies between the number of performers reported and the number which actually perform may result in penalties up to disqualifiction. Seven wristbands will be issued to each unit to be used at their discretion (staff, bus drivers, parents, volunteers, floor crew, etc.). Every unit must check in to receive their wristbands, final information for the day and senior/age-out medals (if applicable). Anyone without a wristband or badge must pay admission to enter the arena, even if only to view one performance.

DIRECTORS: Please ensure that all involved with your unit are aware of these guidelines. Do not expect the volunteers at check-in or at the entrance doors to bend the rules for your unit. Penalties will be assessed to units which misrepresent the number of performers in their unit. We appreciate your assistance with this matter.

UNIT WRISTBANDS ARE VALID AT BOTH SITES, BUT CAN ONLY BE PICKED UP AT THAT UNIT'S PERFORMANCE SITE. IF YOUR UNIT IS ARRIVING EARLY TO HELP ANOTHER UNIT AT THE OTHER SITE, SEND A REPRESENTATIVE TO THEIR PERFORMANCE SITE TO PICK UP THEIR WRISTBANDS.

Performance Schedule

The order of performance for Circuit Championships will be determined as described in the Performance Order Procedure section of ”Contest Policy”. For classes of nine or more units, the class will be divided into thirds based on scores received at FFCC contests using the WGI Seeding Formula. Each third of units based on the seeding process will compete within their block utilizing the random draw and priority blocks to determine their order.

For classes with 16 or more entrants, separate divisions will be created for the Circuit Championships Contest. Units will be assigned divisions based on their ranking in the final championships seeding order with an alternating assignment pattern (i.e. odd number rankings in one division, even number rankings in the other). Seperate divisions must have nine or more units for seeding to occur.

Sound Checks

Sound Checks will occur one hour prior to the start of the show and at the discretion of the Contest Director during breaks. Sound Checks are only for speed and blend NOT VOLUME. Volume will be controlled by the Chief Judge. ALL UNITS are reminded that someone from the management of the unit should stay at the sound table during the unit's performance. ALL UNITS are responsible for having a CD, or electronic version of your performance music.

Rotation

Colorguards: Body warm-up will take place in the band room. Equipment warm-up will take place in the auditorium. Holding will be just outside the gymnasium. The format is identical to that used at Premier.

A specific warm-up area for percussion units will not be provided. Percussion units may warm-up anywhere outside the school. If it is determined that a unit's warm-up is interfering with any portion of the event, they will be asked to make corrections. Failures to take necessary actions as directed by the contest staff may result in penalties up to disqualification.

Percussion units will report to the holding area at their designated time. Percussion units are asked to keep their equipment and props out of the path to the holding area.

You may choose to do all your warm-up outside (weather permitting), but will be required to be at the holding area at the scheduled time. If the contest experiences a delay, do not assume that we won't be able to make up the time. Have someone checking the progress of the show if you are going to skip rotation.

After your performance all equipment, props, floor, etc. must be removed from the gymnasium and well away from the exit to avoid impeding the exit of the next unit.

A warm-up schedule will be posted when the performance order schedule is finalized.

Retreat

There will two separate retreat ceremonies. First, there is a retreat for Novice, Cadet and B Class colorguard immediately after the completion of the Class B performances. Second, there is a retreat for all Percussion units at the conclusion of the contest.

All retreats will be "Full Unit", meaning all performing members will participate. During the announcement of scores in each retreat, the gold, silver and bronze medalists will be brought to the front for presentation of medals. Please advise performers and parents in the stands not to interfere with the medal presentation.

Senior/age-out medals will be given to directors at unit check-in.  Please have your seniors/age-outs performers directly behind the commanding officers so that they have easy access to move to the front of the units to be recognized.

Instructions for retreat staging will be available at guard check-in.
