It's that time of year again, we need your unit photos! There are always units that feel left out because their unit didn't get a photo in the yearbook. The only way we can include photos, is if we have a quality photo to use.
Please do not submit more than 3 photos of your group. It would be great to have a group and action shot when possible. High resolution photos are required for printing. If very small photos are submitted, they cannot be used.

01/26 Slight Change to Winter Springs Critique Schedule
Due to a couple scheduling errors on my part, I have made a few small changes to the Winter Springs critique schedule. Please review this on the Event Page. Thank you...

01/21 A note from the Contest Coordinator
Please read the following from the Contest Coordinator in regards to last minute preparations for the Premier shows...
The deadline for critique sign up passed at midnight on Friday, January 15th. The critique schedule for the Hagerty show has been posted on the event page and can be viewed at this time. Critique schedules for upcoming shows will be released once the performance schedule locks for each event.
If you missed the sign up period, there is still room in many FFCC shows for you to have a critique session with the judges. The shows that have full critique schedules and may not be selected are the Premiere at Hagerty HS, the Premiere at Winter Springs HS, and the color guard critiques at the University and Freedom HS contests. Color Guard contests other then those events can still be selected. ALL percussion critiques remain open for late sign up.
To sign up late, email Tom Slaughter at ffja@ffcc.org . Late sign up will completely and unequivocally end on Sunday, January 31st at midnight. There will be no further extensions past that date.
The January 23rd Colorguard Premier contest for Cadet, B and Scholastic AAA Class guards has been closed and the schedule locked. Any unit still wishing to register for the 2010 FFCC season should contact FFCC Contest Coordinator Jim Taylor at contests@ffcc.org.
01/12 Required Unit Documents
The FFCC requires several important documents in order for units to be able to perform. With premier quickly approaching, there are still many units missing important information. You should be contacted by your class representative this week if you still have outstanding documents. Enclosed are details regarding the specifics of these required documents and contact information.
Judge Assignments for the 2010 season are now current and complete on the FFCC website. Visit each event's respective page to see the judges scheduled for that particular contest.
With the release of this information, critique sign ups for the season should now be forwarded to the Chief Judge. Please send an email to ffja@ffcc.org and include your name, your unit, and the dates (maximum of 3) you would like to attend critique during the 2010 season. Your email needs to be received by midnight on Friday, January 15th.
Critique schedules for each show will be posted one week before the event on the FFCC site. Critiques WILL begin during the awards retreat of each show, so please take that into account as you decide which events you want to attend. A failure to show up for a critique without notification does make your surety bond subject to forfeiture, so choose carefully.
If you have any questions regarding critiques in the FFCC, contact Tom Slaughter directly at ffja@ffcc.org

Regretfully and with heavy heart I write to inform you of the passing of a good friend and colleague. Tim Bell; so vibrant and energetic and such a vital part of our success as an organization and the success of our members with his thoughtful and insightful commentary passed away last night. To say he will be missed is an understatement, he will leave a void in the judging community and in our hearts. He was always up to the task and held himself, the judging community, and all of our teams to the highest of standards. His delivery was on point and always with a sparkle in his eyes. He had a great manner of telling you what you did not want to hear in a light hearted way that left you with dignity and laughter. It is a sad occassion and we will all mourn his passing knowing that we are better people and color guards for having known him. Rest in peace my good friend Tim. I know all of your prayers and good thoughts would be appreciated by his family.

01/15 URGENT: Units Missing Information
The following units are missing the listed required items that are necessary to perform this weekend at Premier. Absolutely no one will perform without proof of liability insurance. These items (proof of liability insurance and rosters) were due on December 15, 2008. If you believe you have sent these items, please re-fax them to 877-905-0358 or email to secretary@ffcc.org. We have had many incidents this year of items being faxed and/or mailed to wrong numbers/addresses. I have also received hundreds of faxes, and I apologize if something was overlooked.
All fees must be paid at guard check in on Saturday or you will not be allowed to perform. Please remember that if you are missing a roster, it MUST be signed by the PRINCIPAL as well as the unit director, and it should list all students and their school of attendance. This is especially important if you have students from a feeder school marching with your program. Please contact your class representative (Trevor Cox for AAA and Chris Palau for B/Cadet) for help or more information.
01/15 Video at Premiere
This a reminder to everyone that both of the FFCC premiere events will be professionally video taped and produced on DVD which can be purchased here: http://www.alliancemedia1.com/
Each unit will also have ONE (1) video pass to record their unit only. NO OTHER VIDEO RECORDING will be allowed at either of these events.
01/13 In Memorium
It is with deep regret that we announce the death of John J. Kenney Jr., husband of Karen Kenney one of our dearest FFCC family members. Please keep Karen and her family in your prayers. In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations be made to Life Link Foundation in John's memory.

Alliance Media wants to encourage you to order your Premier DVD with complete confidence, so we will be offering you GUARANTEED 3 day (postmarked) delivery or it's FREE if you pre-order at our website, you will save $$. Get a PROFESSIONAL memory of the start of the 2009 season and enjoy the performances of your class of competition.
The critique schedule for the January 17th Premiere Show at University High School has been released. You can view the schedule in the Adjudication Details section of the event page for this show. A few reminders about critique.
1. Judges will be set up in 3 stations (Downstairs, EA, and GE). You will have 3 minutes at each station, then 1 minute of time to wrap up and transition to the next station.
2. It is to your benefit to listen to the judges commentary on your CDs before entering critique. Your time is short, and if you can get past the judge "rehashing" what was already said in their commentary, you can have a more in depth conversation.
3. Your time is set in stone and cannot be changed unless a conflict is extreme. Do not arrive late and still expect to enter the critique room. A failure to show up for an assigned critique time without notifying the Chief Judge or Contest Director for the day, does make you subject to forfeiture of your surety bond.
4. It is understood that most directors will have to leave the awards ceremony to attend critique. Please make arrangements for your students to be supervised so you can go.
Any questions on critique can be directed to Tom Slaughter at ffja@ffcc.org

Friday night, which was our traditional evening for the solo and duet competition, is now the FFCC Percussion Championship. Until such time that we can truly honor the performances and efforts of our individual performers without taking away from our other competing members at Circuit Championships, we have decided to discontinue an official FFCC Solo and Duet Championship.

03/17 Dunnellon Critique Schedule
The critique schedule for this weekend's FFCC Show at Dunnellon HS has been posted. We apologize for the delay.
03/17 Championships Critique
This year, at FFCC Championships, Percussion and Color Guard units who are attending WGI World Championships in Dayton have the option to sign up for a critique with their judging panel. For Percussion Units, the critique will begin 15 minutes after the conclusion of the Friday Championships Contest. For Color Guard units, critique will begin 15 minutes after the end of the Sunday contest.
To attend, your unit must be attending WGI World Championships, and you must understand that the critique will take place during the retreat ceremony. Due to time constraints, you must make a choice between attending either retreat or critique. Or, appoint members of your staff to take care of your students during retreat, and then other members of your staff can attend critique. Please plan carefully...signing up for this critique, and then not showing up does still make your unit subject to forfeiture of their surety bond.
Critique times will be pre-assigned, as we have done all season, and posted Monday, March 31st (the Monday before Championships).
If you wish to attend critique at Championships, email Tom Slaughter at ffja@ffcc.org prior to 11:59pm on Thursday, March 27th to secure your spot.
Judging Panels for FFCC Circuit Championships, being held April 4th-6th, have been released. Panels are available on each event's respective page.

02/15 February 23rd Critique Schedules
Critique Schedules for the February 23rd, FFCC Percussion Focus Show at Timber Creek High School, and the Lake Howell Color Guard contest have been released. Please review and make note of your assigned times. Surety bonds will be forfeited if your group is a no-show for your requested critique time.
Due to the increase number of percussion units that have registered for these contests, the schedule has been changed to move percussion to either the beginning or end of the contest. Color Guards and Percussion Units, please verify your performance times as they may have changed.
The critique schedule for this weekend's show at Lake Mary High School is now available. We apologize for the delay in it's release.
02/04 REMINDER: Critique Policy
All units are reminded that it is their responsibility to check the website and know what critique time has been assigned to them in advance of each show. Critique schedules are posted 8-9 days before the contest happens. For example, the Seminole and Colonial critique schedules have been up since last Friday. The Lake Mary critique schedule will be posted this coming Friday.
A couple of additional points. CRITIQUE WILL ALWAYS START DURING RETREAT. Arrive at the judges room at your assigned time, even if awards are still being presented. If you have questions regarding critique on show day, ask the Timing and Penalties judge. The administration of critique at each show is their responsibility.
A failure to not show up for a critique, without notice, is now grounds for forfeiture of your surety bond. If unforeseen circumstances arise, and you have to pull out of critique, we will of course be fair. Please contact the Chief Judge immediately if you know that a conflict like this will occur. But simply not showing up, or arriving late is not acceptable. If you notice a scheduling conflict or error (i.e. critique is schedule for you during your promotion ceremony, two of your groups are scheduled to critique at the same time, etc..) please notify the Chief Judge in advance and "politely" inform him he has overlooked this.
Please note.... this policy is the same for both Guard AND Percussion units. Any questions, email ffja@ffcc.org

Promotion represents one of the most significant honors that an FFCC member can achieve. It means that the students have exceeded expectations that the WGI Educational philosophy as well as their respective instructors had for them when they entered the FFCC for the 2007 season. Please relay to your students the honor and satisfaction they should feel in going "beyond" their perceived limits and use it as a lesson in life to always expect more from yourself and set goals that push your achievements to the ultimate.
Congratulations to these 3 guards and ALL of our FFCC members for two tremendous Color Guard Premiere contests. Great shows are scheduled for this weekend at Countryside HS and Fleming Island HS, with our Percussion units making their 2007 debut at Fleming Island. We wish great performances to everyone in the FFCC who will "wow" the crowd this weekend!!
